This lovely couple decided on a beach engagement session with their children. Sometimes you just meet people and it instantly clicked, that’s how I felt when I met Bec and Gavin.
Both are very down to earth but always in for a great laugh.
Bec and Gavin have both been married before with children out of their previous marriage and therefore enjoying this wonderful mixed family.
One of the things I would recommend when you have children is that they join your engagement session. It’s a great way for us to get to know each other. If you’re dealing with young(er) children, they feel more comfortable, because I’m not a stranger anymore. But rather than a funny and happy person with the enormous camera lol 😛
So when Bec asked if their boys could be part of it, my response was: they sure can!
Bec & Gavin wanted their session in the sunshine on Bribie Island since they live in the “Sunshine” State 😉 We had to postpone it twice because of the rain (it is the rainy season after all :P) but luck favoured us in the end. There’s was still one little surprise, when we arrived at Red Beach is was windy and I mean very very windy!
Big wind gusts blasted along the beach so I had to do a bit of improvising. Which isn’t unusual for a photographer!
You never know what kind of weather you have to deal with, forcing you to be flexible and creative, to say the least.
After Red Beach, we headed over to Woorim Beach and the boys wanted to have some fun in the massive waves. In my sessions, I try to combine some posed shots and then go over to candid shots. This gives you the best of both photography styles in the end.
Thank you, Rebecca, Gavin and your beautiful kids of course for having an awesome but very windy time together. I can’t wait to capture your romantic wedding at Maleny Retreat in June! XxX Karin
What Bec & Gavin think of Karisma Studios:
“We were sooooo very lucky to have you as our photographer! You were everything we wanted and more. You are amazing at what you do and also a lot of fun to be with. xx“
