When Catie told me she wanted to book me for her Airlie Beach Wedding I was so overjoyed.
The last time I was in Airlie, I was a backpacker back in 2004. However, at the time I didn’t know I would spend the rest of my life here in beautiful Australia.
Catie and Lucas have been together for years and years and have 3 gorgeous little children (2 girls and 1 boy). A busy life didn’t stop them tying the knot to show everyone how much they love each other!
They planned a big wedding for all their family and friends to attend holding it at the Big 4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort.
Everything from the ceremony up to the reception was organised by the Palm House.
I arrived the day before the wedding in Airlie, mainly to discuss the final details which gave me a chance to attend the wedding rehearsal.
I always try to be at the rehearsal whenever possible. Even knowing the weather conditions won’t be the same, I get a chance to see some things the bride, groom or celebrant miss.
For example a bridal couple’s worst enemy: dappled light coming through the trees. Trust me that’s not a great look because Photoshop can’t fix that either!
On the day, Catie looked perfect in every way. She was accompanied by stunning bridesmaids and her daughter was such a cute flower girl.
The boys waited patiently at the altar and it was such a wonderful day in Airlie. Especially as the week before it had rained all week.
The sky was lovely with great clouds building up by the time the ceremony was finished. I knew these would result in fabulous sunset images since we would be on location during the “golden hour” & twilight.
Because of this, I was happy that I could create very romantic images with artificial light and including the stunning Airlie Beach background.
Happy Anniversary Cutie & Lucas, I can’t believe a year has already passed by!
I hope married life is treating you well. XxX Karin
